CITiZAN Training: Victoria Docks

18.07.2016
Kingston Upon Hull

Time: 10am

The CITiZAN team are out in Kingston-upon-Hull this month for a Festival of Archaeology training session for 16-25 year-olds.

Come along to get your hands-on experience of archaeology in association with the Council for British Archaeology. They will be exploring the history of Victoria Docks, where Earles Shipyard was located and where there are now the remains of three timber hulled vessels.

Participants will learn how to use real archaeological techniques including archaeological scale planning, using archaeological recording forms and archaeological photography. No previous experience is needed. Please ensure to bring appropriate clothing for rain or sun. Suitable footwear is a must and wellington boots are advised as the site can be very muddy. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided and there will be lunch provided. Parking will be available.

Part of the morning will be spent outside, with a practical session on site taking up the remainder of the day.

If you are 16-25 and would like to book a place, please contact CITiZAN or call them on 01904 521249
