CLASP Archaeology Day

23.07.2016
The ICON, Eastern Way, Daventry, NN11 0QB

Time: 9am-5pm
Price: Free

Come and hear about the archaeology in your community at the CLASP Archaeology Day.

Our team in Northampton will be there with a pop-up exhibition with artefacts including a saddle quern, used for griding grains to make flour. We'll also be giving talks on Geophysical survey of Iron Age & Roman sites around Daventry, archaeology, community action and development on the Daventry Link Road, and excavations at Apex Park and Monksmoor.

They'll be joining archaeologists from across the country, reporting on recent discoveries, including a major Iron Age settlement.

Come along and see finds from Iron Age and Roman Britain, and chat with the archaeologists that discovered them.

CLASP (Community Landscape Archaeology Survey Project) brings local archaeology enthusiasts together to investigate their past through activities run by professional archaeologists.

This event is part of the Festival of Archaeology. Visit their website for a full list of what’s happening in your area.
