Our Technical Specialists are leading experts in the fields of geomatics, GIS, geophysics, geoarchaeology, aerial survey and building recording. We also employ professional editors, graphic illustrators and photographers who guarantee our reports and publications are presented to a high quality.
Our highly skilled geomatics team produces high-quality survey, spatial and location data to support our archaeological fieldwork and to create products for landowners and heritage clients. We employ a variety of survey techniques to suit the requirements of the project, from rapid capture of 3D topographic data, using GPS and Total Stations, to digital photogrammetry and 3D laser scanning. The sites our geomatics team surveys range from historic buildings, monuments and landscapes to development sites.
Our geomatics team provides the most appropriate and compatible survey techniques for each project.
We use the latest survey technology to capture data that would otherwise be hard to obtain, for example, where long-term monitoring of a site is required. These technologies include Lidar and remotely sensed data for landscape survey. We create, manage and interpret spatial data in both CAD and GIS environments to produce elevations, plans, models and report illustrations. We are very experienced in working in interdisciplinary project teams and often integrate our information with existing engineering and client datasets.
Types of work include heritage management, engineering scheme design, and cultural resource and disaster management. Our products are used by our clients to fulfil planning conditions, where a historic building survey or Listed Building Consent is required.
In partnership with Bradford University, we offer an archaeomagnetic dating service to archaeological clients, providing absolute dating for particular types of archaeological features.
