Historic building recording at Knole, Kent

Historic Building Recording

Our historic building recording is undertaken by a team of dedicated buildings archaeologists. We analyse, interpret, record and report on historic buildings and structures, listed buildings and monuments. We also undertake watching briefs during refurbishment works or ahead of demolition of historic buildings.

Our dedicated historic building recording team assesses and undertakes fieldwork for a range of buildings, including listed buildings, scheduled monuments, industrial buildings and other historic structures.

The team advises clients on the best method for recording their structures and works closely with our professional photographers and survey teams. We have in-house expertise in assessing building fabrics, including brick, tile, stone and timber.

We deliver interim reports promptly so that work on site can progress smoothly. All the reports we produce are expertly researched and include advice on conservation management and can be used by our clients to inform refurbishments of historic buildings.
