Photography and Image Library

MOLA’s professional photographers support all areas of our work by producing quality images. Working across studio and location-based photography, including on site excavation images, we have documented archaeology for over 35 years. Our photographers employ state-of-the-art digital photography alongside traditional methods. The imagery we produce features in our professional reports, academic and popular books, digital products, exhibitions and displays, and in the media. Our photographers also undertake photography commissions for our clients.

The technical ability of our photographers allows us to produce high-quality reports and publications and our Image Library embraces photographs from a number of notable archaeological projects.

Our technical expertise embraces rectifying architectural photography, photomicroscopy, macro-photography and digital image manipulation. The photos in our image library are licensed to publishers, researchers, academics, authors and the media worldwide. It is a unique resource of high-quality archaeological photography and includes images from a number of notable excavations, including the Prittlewell Saxon princely burial, London’s Roman amphitheatre and wide-ranging infrastructure projects, such as the Jubilee Line extension and the Olympic Park.
