Time Truck Outreach Programme
The Time Truck is a flexible and interactive mobile learning space that delivers an extensive archaeology outreach programme of community engagement and educational sessions for schools.
The exciting programme of public events, volunteering, and educational initiatives, delivered by an experienced and respected educational charity with a 43 year track record, is intended to strengthen communities, making connections between people and places. The Time Truck inspires people to be curious about their heritage and enables them to discover why archaeology matters.
The 2016/17 Time Truck Outreach Programme takes archaeology into the heart of London communities. Over the year it will:
- Deliver archaeology education sessions to over 4000 school children in Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Southwark, and Tower Hamlets;
- Work with a minimum of 30 individuals who are NEET or at risk, across Haringey, Islington and Tower Hamlets, to introduce them to potential new heritage led careers;
- Host a minimum of 50 community engagement events from the Time Truck, engaging over 1500 visitors in their local heritage and archaeology;
- Support the work of a minimum of 20 additional volunteers helping with all aspects of MOLA’s work on heritage and the built environment.
As the programme unfolds over the course of the year, you can keep up to date with the various activities on our events pages and on our blog and on social media with #TimeTruck. For more information regarding our schools programme, download our Time Truck Schools Brochure.
