As the tide turns and the shores of the River Thames are uncovered, it becomes the longest open-air archaeological site in London. Thames Discovery Programme is the community archaeology project hosted by MOLA which is dedicated to recording the archaeology of the River Thames and on 3rd December 2016, it will hold its 8th annual conference at the Leopold Muller Theatre at the National Maritime Museum.
Speakers include members of the Foreshore Recording and Observation Group, Historic England, Tideway, Thames Clippers, Port of London Authority and our colleagues from the Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network (CITiZAN).
Tickets include tea, coffee and biscuits and the conference will be followed by beer and a game of skittles at the Victorian alley beneath the Old Royal Naval College.
