Nick is the Director of Development Services. He manages the project managers, geoarchaeologists, built heritage team and the field team, which ranges in size from 50 to 100 archaeologists according to workload. He is a member of MOLA's Senior Management Group, responsible for directing the organisation's overall strategy.

Nick joined MOLA in 1981, having previously worked on sites around the UK. He was the principal supervisor for the Roman amphitheatre excavations from 1987 to 1997, and has extensive experience of directing large excavations and post-excavation analysis in London, and a wide experience of archaeology abroad.

As a Project Manager heĀ  delivered high quality results on time and budget for major clients, including Land Securities, Skanska, Bovis, the NHS, Heron Property and CORE. Nick is the author of over 30 academic articles, papers and books, is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA) and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
