Placemaking

We work with our clients to help them make better places, drawing on the heritage and archaeology of their sites. We assist with placemaking throughout the planning and development process and beyond. Our input at an early stage includes designing and conducting consultation with local stakeholders. We advise and guide our clients on how best to maximise and showcase the heritage of their sites and we input to scheme design.

During construction we work closely with our clients and their contractors to communicate the heritage of their sites, promote their investment in it and help meet their corporate social responsibility objectives. We organise a range of events for local stakeholders, including neighbours and schools, such as walks, talks, workshops and pop-up exhibitions. Our graphics team design information panels, printed literature and decorative hoardings that engage local people. We also use digital media, including blogs, social media and apps.

Our clients’ ongoing interaction with stakeholders is served by our placemaking services, embracing the creation of content for marketing materials, books, displays and digital outputs. We provide the tools to celebrate the legacy of a project and its connection to our heritage. Take a look at the placemaking projects below or explore more case studies on our projects pages.
