Volunteers cataloguing and repackaging archive material

Volunteering

Experience archaeology first-hand and volunteer with MOLA. Volunteering with us is a great way to build specialist technical skills and ‘soft skills’ alike. Our experts support volunteers working on a range of projects.

We offer a range of volunteering opportunities, from becoming a FROG (Foreshore Recording and Observation Group) volunteer with the Thames Discovery Programme or recroding archaeological sites along England's coastline with CITiZAN to assisting with the cataloguing of archive material excavated by our archaeologists.

We welcome people of all knowledge levels, whether for short or long term volunteering, but we ask that volunteers are aged 16 or over. If we have no opportunities currently available we endeavour to find an opportunity at a later date.

If you want to volunteer with the our flagship community archaeology programmes please visit the project websites: www.thamesdiscovery.org for the Thames Discovery Programme or www.citizan.org.uk for CITiZAN .

For general volunteering opportunities at MOLA please complete a Volunteer Expression of Interest Form and contact us at volunteering@mola.org.uk to enquire about availability for volunteering placements.
