Lead Consultant (Built Heritage)
Mark is MOLA's Lead Consultant of Built Heritage. He joined MOLA in 2013 and is responsible for pre-application detailed design, heritage and planning input into a variety of projects including built heritage assessments and environmental statements, editing and quality assurance, preparation of tenders and staff development.
A Chartered Town Planner and Landscape Architect, Mark is a founder member and past Vice Chair of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and an Associate of the Institute for Archaeologists. He has extensive experience of managing and achieving successful design, development and heritage projects in the UK and abroad, over the last 30 years in Local Authorities and consultancy.
Mark also has experience of planning, heritage and landscape related appeals, as expert witness, advocate and client consultant and has appeared successfully for clients and local authorities in over 120 enquiries and informal hearings.
