Paul Riggott

Senior Consultant (Archaeology)

Paul is one of MOLA’s senior consultants, a role he has been in since 2011. In this position he undertakes pre-planning archaeological desk-based assessments, mainly of urban sites in the Greater London area, but also of rural and suburban sites.

Within his role Paul was the Project Officer for the Northamptonshire Terrestrial Minerals Resource Assessment. This project involved collecting and enhancing large quantities of Historic Environment Records (HER), liaising with Northamptonshire HER personnel, using ArcGIS to analyse enhanced HER data and producing asset density figures, and writing the final project report.

Prior to moving into archaeology Paul worked for many years in the IT industry.  Consequently, he has a great deal of experience of participating in large-scale schemes, and frequently undertakes projects at MOLA which involve IT-based research. He is particularly interested in using ArcGIS to examine landscapes, including both spatial analysis and digital terrain modelling.
