Festival of Archaeology: CITiZAN's guided walk of Historic Hull and Earle's Shipyard

Join the Humberside Discovery Programme team as they take a walk around Historic Hull, Hull Dockyards and the Earle's Shipyard as part of CITiZAN's Festival of Archaeology 2019 celebrations.
Discover Hull's medieval orgins and find out all about it's prosperous industrial heritage through the 18th and 19th centuries, and its vital role in the conflicts of the 21st century. There will also be a chance to hear about CITiZAN's plans for the summer across Humberside including the opportunies to volunteer and get involed, including how to become a CITiZAN surveyor.
The team will meet outside the Hull and East Riding Museum, 36 High St, Hull HU1 1NQ and the walk will take approximate 2 hours.
Access to all areas is generally flat although some historic cobbled streets remain in the historic quarter, so please do bring sensible footwear. This is an open walk and booking is not required, but please check CITiZAN's social media accounts for updates regards weather and potential changes or cancellation.

09.01.2019CITiZAN, the Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network, has been awarded funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to establish six Discovery Programmes in areas where the risk to intertidal and coastal archaeology is extreme.
