Thames Discovery Programme Partnership
The Thames Discovery Programme (TDP) is an award-winning volunteer-led project. It records and researches archaeological artefacts that are revealed on the Thames foreshore by the rising and falling tide. We are looking to partner with businesses along the Thames who are seeking a unique way to achieve their sustainable business objectives. Partnering with the TDP offers your employees the opportunity to get involved in this worthwhile project and learn about the history of their city and the river they walk past every day.
The TDP runs a host of community and education events up and down the river, and trains FROG (Foreshore Recording and Observation Group) volunteers to give Londoners and local businesses an experience of this unique part of their heritage.
Being a TDP partner gives you:
Recognition and branding on the TDP website, at events, on marketing materials and press releases and bespoke foreshore based employee/family & friends/client events for up to 40 people OR A talk on the archaeology of the Thames/London to be delivered by our expert at your offices or a location of your choice. Complimentary tickets to TDP’s annual programme of events including: guided foreshore walks, lectures, family days and boat tours.
A £4,000 level of investment will support:
- Assisted FROG training places for NEET individuals – using volunteer skills building to help people progress into work
- The development of a programme of boat trips to allow those with disabilities, who might not otherwise be able to, to get down to the foreshore and learn about the history of London and the River
- The TDP annual conference, giving our volunteers the opportunity to share their findings as widely as possible
- New ways to share the heritage that TDP volunteers record on a daily basis, through new web resources and publications
