Thames Discovery Programme Tadpoles: Foreshore trip to Rotherhithe
Rotherhithe Overground Station
Time: 11:30am - 12:45pm
Thames Discovery Programme is welcoming budding archaeologists aged 8-18 to sites across London to learn archaeological techniques and skills from foreshore experts.
Session six will take you on a journey through Rotherhithe’s maritime history. This will also be another fantastic opportunity to talk to the Thames Discovery Programme FROG (Foreshore Recording and Observation Group) about what they do on site and see live fieldwork in action.
As this session is outdoors, you will need to wear comfortable but suitable clothes and waterproof footwear as the foreshore can sometimes be uneven and muddy and often cold.
You will also have the opportunity to complete the CIfA accredited Archaeology Skills Passport.
Parents are welcome to come along to the session should they wish. The members of the Thames Discovery Programme running this event have current DBS checks and are first-aid trained.
We’re delighted to be able to offer this series of events free of charge with thanks to support from Tideway.
