Gunnersbury Park Archaeology Event

17.07.2016
Gunnersbury Park, W3 8LQ (Meet at the main park entrance on Popes Lane)

Time: 10am-12pm
Price: Free

MOLA archaeologists are on site at Gunnersbury Park this Sunday, providing a morning of training workshops for adults. And in the afternoon, we’ll be running a range of family activities.

This event is part of the Festival of Archaeology 2016. The training workshop will be an introduction to archaeological excavation and recording techniques in a shallow trench to the north of the Mansions

Currently we are working on several aspects of the transformation of Gunnersbury Park. Our work helps to ensure that the historic park structures and features are fully investigated and recorded during the major improvement works that are taking place. So far we have excavated a Victorian bath house at the site of the park café, monitored the recreation of the Horse Shoe Pond, and recorded historic structures such as the grotto and vaults.

To book, please email Gunnersbury Park or call on 020 8993 8809
