Head of Photography
Andy manages a small team of professional photographers who are responsible for the production of high quality archaeological images, in addition to publication, exhibition, press and public-relations photographs. Using state of the art digital equipment, and working on location and in their well-equipped studio, our photographers record the wide range of archaeological work as well as managing the Image Library.
Andy joined MOLA in 1990. He has worked as a professional photographer in England, Europe and the Middle East. Having extensive experience working within medical and industrial research, and within the visual effects industry, he has the experience required to produce images within technical demanding areas of photography, such as 3D visualization, infrared and ultraviolet imaging, macrophotography, photomicroscopy, and architectural photography.
A significant part of Andy’s job involves working with the head of our graphics team to provide images of every sort for our popular and academic publications. The production values manifested in these are widely considered to set the benchmark for archaeological publication in the UK.
Our Technical Specialists are leading experts in the fields of geomatics, GIS, geophysics, geoarchaeology, aerial survey and building recording. We also employ professional editors, graphic illustrators and photographers who guarantee our reports and publications are presented to a high quality.
