As a senior project manager based at our Northampton office, I oversee the delivery of some of our largest and most complex projects.
I started in archaeology in the early 1990s and for many years was lucky enough to have been involved in the excavations at the Roman forts in South Shields and Wallsend. This work instilled the importance of planning and delivering accurate and quality work, still the key drivers behind my passion to improve standards. I joined MOLA in 2016 and I’m still excited by the opportunities that developer-led archaeological work can provide in moving forward our understanding of the past and in new innovative ways.
In recent years I have managed the archaeological delivery of three nationally significant infrastructure projects for National Highways, including the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet, the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon and the A1 Leeming to Barton Improvement Schemes. These contained very significant archaeological remains, especially the nationally significant late Iron Age - early Roman settlement at Scotch Corner, the very complex deep stratigraphical remains of Catterick Roman town, and the study of large landscapes in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. I am particularly proud to have been part of driving efficient innovation in archaeological delivery.
