As Geophysical Survey Manager, working out of MOLA's Northampton office, I oversee and support our dedicated team of geophysics specialists, manage our geophysics survey projects, and give technical advice to colleagues in other MOLA teams and offices.
I studied at the University of Bradford, gaining a BSc in Archaeological Science (2004) and an MSc in Archaeological Prospection (2005). After some short-term work with Oxford Archaeotechnics, I joined Northamptonshire Archaeology in 2006 and transferred to MOLA in 2014. My professional specialism has always been in geophysics and I am highly experienced in magnetometer survey, as well as a good working knowledge of resistance survey and ground-penetrating radar.
I have managed our geophysics team in 2021, working on projects of all sizes for a range of clients including archaeological consultancies, construction companies, major infrastructure developers, and national heritage organisations. My career highlights to date include surveys on a Neolithic long-barrow, several Roman villas, a medieval Cistercian abbey, and a memorably large complex of post-medieval lime-kilns.
