Matthew Ginnever
Senior Project Manager
As a Senior Project Manager in the London Office, I lead on major infrastructure projects. My key skills and experiences include post-medieval cemetery excavations, and contract and commercial management (NEC and FIDIC contracts).
I have been a professional archaeologist since 2007, when I started as an environmental processor and field archaeologist for Canterbury Archaeological Trust and MOLA. In 2011 I began working as a supervisor for Headland Archaeology on many evaluations and excavations across the county including the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Bypass project, the Triton Knoll windfarm onshore cable route and a large post-medieval cemetery in Blackburn, Lancashire.
In 2018 I became involved in the HS2 project as Project Manager on the excavations at Euston Station, which involved the excavation St James's burial ground. I re-joined MOLA in 2019 and work on HS2, managing sites along the central section including large trial trenching schemes and the excavation of a substantial Roman settlement at Blackgrounds Farm.
More recently I have been working on a wide range of large-scale projects, including Anglian Water SPA, the Restoration and Renewal project at the Houses of Parliament, and EA1 North / EA2 archaeological mitigation in Suffolk.
