As a MOLA trustee, I bring significant experience in digital technology. I have led on the modernisation of systems and digital technology as the first Group CIO successively at British Airways, the John Lewis Partnership, and Johnson Matthey, developing ba.com and johnlewis.com. Currently I am Group CIO at Persimmon Homes.
I also bring a life-long interest in history and archaeology, and read history at Cambridge. My book Roman Forts and Strategy was published in 2022, and I am currently working on one about the Roman invasions of Britain. Both books are built on a foundation of the many excavation reports and other sources about Roman forts, underpinned by data analytics. I am also interested in exploring how generative AI can be used in archaeological research and reconstructions.
I have also been a non-executive director on the boards of Virgin Money and Pets at Home, and am currently on the board of Metro Bank.
