As a small finds specialist based at our London Office, I assess and analyse metalwork and other small finds, including stone hones, ceramic Roman lamps and worked-bone objects, from our excavations. I also prepare reports about the finds for publication, and take part in outreach events, sharing our findings with the public.

Before joining MOLA I worked in the world of stray finds in south-east England - this is objects discovered outside of archaeological excavations, mostly found by metal detectorists and mudlarks -  where I developed my specialism in coin identification and Roman to medieval metalwork. I remain interested in developing closer links between these groups of finders and archaeologists.

My other research interests include early-medieval jewellery, which I have been fascinated by since my university studies, and later medieval material and social expression through object use.
