As Head of Programmes, I oversee the programming and delivery of our post-excavation reporting and publications. I also lead the post-excavation teams across our offices, including finds and environmental processing, finds and environmental specialists, conservation, and archiving.
I have more than 10 years of commercial post-excavation experience with MOLA. I started as a supervisor and project officer, producing and editing client site reports, desk-based assessments, publications, and finds specialist reports. I also worked public-focused outputs including ArcGIS StoryMaps, press releases, popular booklets, and interpretation boards. I then led the team of Research and Engagement project and publication managers, delivering high quality outputs with a focus on public value, becoming Head of Programmes in 2020.
I have an academic background, with my PhD thesis exploring "The material culture of drinking and the construction of social identity in the 17th-century Dutch Republic", and have worked on grant-funded research. I have also managed and delivered successful public outreach and engagement projects including the Delapré Digs IAA funded project on archaeology and wellbeing
I have introduced a number of procedural innovations at MOLA, including digital archiving and digital data management, environmental processing efficiencies, systems for Quality Control, and staff mentoring. I sit on the EDI and Sustainability Working Groups, and Health and Safety Committee.
