Classics For All Teaching Workshops
MOLA is working with Classics for All to develop and deliver Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops for KS2 teachers teaching the Romans in several London boroughs including Haringey, Newham, Barking & Dagenham and Croydon thanks to generous support from Classics for All and the Mayor of London.
Combining MOLA’s wealth of of experience in excavating Classical archaeology, with Classics for All’s knowledge of bringing Latin to life, the workshops aim to empower teachers to find new and engaging ways of teaching their pupils about the Romans. Teachers trained under the programme will develop the skills to be able to make the most of the rich archaeological evidence available for the period in the classroom.
Led by our Learning and Engagement Officer, the workshops look at themes often addressed in teaching about the Romans, such as Boudica and the role of women, the Roman army, and the founding of Londinium, and consider how lessons can be enhanced through different activities and artefact handling. Participants also receive a teachers pack of resources to supplement learning in the classroom.
Sessions last 2 hours and are delivered in the early evening. For more information and to book please contact Ashley Almeida: email@example.com.
