Join archaeologists of the Thames Discovery Programme out on the river at Deptford. Discover the maritime heritage of the south bank of the Thames, and find out about post-medieval ship building at Deptford Royal Dockyard. The walk will focus on the history and heritage of the river including those structures and features exposed by the movement of sediment in this dynamic environment, which are monitored and archaeologically recorded by the FROG

The group will meet at the river stairs at the end of of Watergate Street at 10am. Please be aware that the foreshore can be uneven and muddy so please bring studry walking boots or wellingtons. This event may be cancelled due to inclement weather but please contact TDP if you have any questions regarding the event.

Thanks to funding from the City Bridge Trust this event is free for Londoners over the age of 75.
